The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of affordable housing development and rehabilitation projects. Working closely with project managers, developers, and stakeholders, the APM ensures projects stay on schedule, within budget, and comply with all regulatory requirements. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of affordable housing programs, financing, and construction processes.

What you will do
• Project Coordination & Support
o Assist in managing affordable housing development projects from inception to completion.
o Support due diligence, feasibility analysis, and project underwriting.
o Maintain project schedules, track key milestones, and coordinate with internal and external teams.
o Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Financial & Regulatory Compliance
o Assist in preparing financing applications (LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, HUD, etc.).
o Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and support financial reporting.
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations.
o Work with legal and compliance teams to manage funding agreements and contracts.
• Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
o Communicate with government agencies, lenders, investors, and community partners.
o Support general contractors, architects, and consultants in project execution.
o Assist in securing permits, entitlements, and approvals.
• Construction & Operations Support
o Monitor construction progress, attend site visits, and assist in resolving project issues.
o Coordinate with property management teams to ensure smooth project handover.
o Support sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency measures, and green building standards.
What you should have:
The successful candidate must possess the drive and energy to execute on the responsibilities outlined above. The candidate must have substantial real estate transaction experience and will ideally have a background in affordable housing and investments/(re)development.
