As a new Cisco Network Infrastructure Engineer you will provide network engineering services to the statewide enterprise network and all State agencies. You will act as a subject matter expert providing design, implementation, and support of highly complex networks including LAN/WAN, Wireless, data center, and cloud technologies.
The position acts as the technical lead for the planning, testing, administrating, and implementing network solutions and establishing best practice standards. The position makes decisions and provides detailed input that affects the State core network and agencies' network infrastructure. The position performs network architecture design and implementation which impact all supported agencies and their locations across Colorado.
The position establishes network technology standards to be used within the State network infrastructure. The position interfaces with network operations, security operations, and telecommunications teams to provide network services to customers. The position supports the strategic interface to other entities including state, federal, and local agencies; private sector groups; and the public.
This position is term limited with an anticipated end date of approximately one year from the date of hire. It is eligible for State employee benefits and may be extended as the situation warrants.
These roles will require occasional travel within the state to areas outside of your assigned geographic location. Travel will be planned in advance and expenses reimbursed per existing policies and procedures.
Pre?employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre?employment drug test. The position may require on?call duties as needed and travel across the state as required.
All remote work must be performed in Colorado. Candidates from out of state will also be considered, but the selected candidate must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of the new position.
