Safety Advisor & Consultant (Full-Time)

Position Overview

CMI is seeking a Safety Advisor & Consultant with approximately 5 years of hands-on experience to join our growing team. This dynamic, client-facing role involves partnering with organizations across various industries to strengthen safety culture, ensure OSHA compliance, and deliver high-impact training. Youll serve as a trusted advisorguiding clients through compliance challenges, developing tailored safety programs, and delivering actionable insights to reduce workplace risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a safety advisor to multiple clients, helping them implement and maintain OSHA-compliant safety programs (e.g., Emergency Action Plans, LOTO, Hazard Communication, PPE, Bloodborne Pathogens).
  • Conduct onsite assessments and provide site-specific safety recommendations based on hazard identification and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver engaging OSHA-compliant training on topics such as Forklift Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection & Fit Testing, and more.
  • Act as a project manager for your accountsscheduling, communicating, and coordinating deliverables across client sites.
  • Maintain accurate records, complete administrative tasks (time/expense reporting), and ensure timely documentation.
  • Stay current with OSHA standards, best practices, and emerging risks through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in occupational health & safety, ideally in a consulting or advisory capacity.
  • Proven ability to evaluate hazards, create custom inspection reports, and recommend practical safety solutions.
  • Experience developing and implementing written safety programs and procedures.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skillsable to engage diverse audiences in training and coaching environments.
  • Highly organized with strong time managementcomfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Exceptional client service mindset with the ability to build trust and maintain relationships across industries.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field (preferred).
  • GSP or ASP certification (preferred or in progress).
  • OSHA 511 and or 501 (prefered or in progress).
  • First Aid/CPR Instructor certification (preferred).

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (overnight travel may be required).
  • Flexible scheduling to meet client demands.
  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, stooping, crawling, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
