Position Overview

The Supplemental Health National Sales Director (NSD) will be responsible for driving new business sales for Supplemental Health products in National Accounts (employers with 3,000+ eligible). This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our largest clients.

Key Areas Of Expertise
  • Product solutions: Accidental Injury (AI), Critical Illness (CI), and Hospital Care (HC) products, including corresponding pricing and underwriting strategies
  • Enrollment solutions: Internal capabilities and external options
  • Administrative solutions: Billing and claim processes
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Distribution Strategy: Develop and execute a strategy to grow AI, CI, and HC product sales in National Accounts (clients > 3,000 lives). Present Cignas offering and value proposition to multiple audiences, manage pipelines, and participate in finalist meetings, underwriting discussions, and seminars. Provide product-specific sales reports and forecasts.
  • Partner with Cigna Healthcare Team: Collaborate to uncover cross-sell opportunities within Medical and Dental books and with new prospects. Educate clients and brokers on Cignas offerings and expand the vertical strategy to increase market penetration.
  • Matrix Partner Collaboration: Serve as a liaison to improve competitiveness, participate in internal meetings, and communicate distribution needs. Offer market feedback to underwriting, pricing, and enrollment support to align with conditions and customer needs.
  • Goal Attainment: Meet or exceed assigned Supplemental Health sales goals.
Role Details

The NSD role is eligible for incentive compensation. Details are addressed in an annual compensation plan and may vary year to year.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Industry experience required
  • History of consistently delivering business results
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment
  • Ability to balance high-priority, long-term projects with short-term deadlines
  • Ability to foster collaboration and gain support for proposals
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, executive presence
  • Proven ability to lead in a heavily matrixed environment
  • Experience working with large national accounts preferred
  • Familiarity with latest trends in Supplemental Health

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic provider with speeds of at least 10 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload.

This role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
