Summary of Duties: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and controls for 4 branch locations located across Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. Hold Transportation and Heavy Construction GMs accountable for financial accuracy and ensure deadlines and performance standards are met. Review and certify the accuracy and completeness of the monthly financial statements, including the reported revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities in accordance with the applicable business financial policies and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), including compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting responsibilities. Prepare monthly and quarterly business review packages and related analysis to support management presentations, identifying areas of opportunities and risks. Prepare commercial bid approvals for orders in excess of $2M for approval by the CFO. Prepare and present the annual operating plan jointly with divisional leadership team to CEO and CFO. Prepare all disclosures pertaining to internal control deficiencies, impairment testing, and reserve calculations. Drive an efficient and effective process for developing financial budgets including timeline, budget templates, and preparing budget deliverables while engaging all internal stakeholders. Review departmental spending against monthly trends and budget with business leadership and plant operations team. Interface with internal and external stakeholders and monitor performance against plan. Conduct extensive customer, product line, product manufacturing, and ROI analysis interpreting results and trends and identifying areas of improvement impacting sales, gross margin, operating profit, cost savings, and working capital. Understand key business drivers for long-term sustainable growth and develop predictive analytics and tools to support the portfolio in achieving profitable growth. Review all capital projects for conceptual and financial soundness. Develop ad-hoc modeling and analysis to support business decisions. Partner with cross-functional team to develop tools that provide critical financial and operational information and KPIs. Develop, mentor, and guide the activities of the finance and accounting teams, manage the workloads of direct reports, and assist with professional development. 5-10% domestic and international travel required.
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Finance Manager, Senior Analyst, Cost Analyst, Cost Accountant, or a related occupation.
